ada works . it

Start in GNAT Studio

These instructions are for installing and starting programming using AdaCore's "GNAT Studio" on a 64bit computer with a Linux Fedora operating system.

Initially I started using "GNAT Studio 2019". I then used in a later installation "GNAT Studio 2020" and subsequently "GNAT Studio 2021" which has proved to be unreliable and in which features like intelligent variable name completion, renaming of functions and variables and finding all instances of particular variables, do not work! So much for Total Quality Management! Despite Ada being a high reliability language it seems that the culture does not permeate the development tools some elements of which are written in python? Of course I am not necessarily blaming Python for the faults, I have no idea where they originated, but I am asking the question, what can python do usefully that could not have been written in Ada? I prefer code that is not composed of mixed languages.

In conclusion therefore I am currently recommending installing "GNAT Studio 2020" NOT the latest "GNAT Studio 2021"!
